Caramel & Cream

Pants: Club Monaco (On Sale) and here  // Shoes: Saint Laurent // Top: L'Agence // Bag: Fendi // Sunnies: Tory Burch

In the last days of Summer, I love nothing more than the light feeling of silk crepe from head to toe. Not to mention this outfit fits really well into my life: i.e. appropriate for the office, and perfect for drinks after.  I also love that these wide-leg pants are the perfect weight to wear now, with the perfect caramel color to transition into the fall season. Need another reason? They are on sale right now! I hope everyone has a great long weekend and thank you as always for reading.

Summer Stripes

Dress: Anthropologie // Shoes: Everlane // Sunnies: Tory Burch // Bag: Fendi // Bracelets: David Yurman

Over the weekend Rob and I traveled to New Jersey to visit his parents, and this fun off-the-shoulder sundress was my choice for family dinner outside on the deck. I must admit my roommate found this dress first at Anthropologie. After seeing how cute it was on her, I knew it would be the perfect casual summer ensemble for my trip to NJ and home to Florida for Labor Day weekend. Since it is a little on the frilly side, it looks best styled with cool accessories like my street shoes and reflective sunnies. I hope everyone has a great start to their week, and thank you for reading!

Street Skort

Skort: J.Crew // Shoes: Everlane // Top: H&M (old) // Jacket: J.Crew (old, similar here) // Bag: c/o Hayden Harnett // Sunnies: Moorea Seal

Once a solution for climbing up a jungle gym while maintaining the appearance of femininity, the skort is something that I haven't considered since grade school. When I stumbled upon this perfectly pleated modern version, I knew it would fit seamlessly into my adult life. I also love the way it's creamy seashell color is a the perfect neutral to pair with a crisp white and pops of silver. Speaking of white, I recently made my first Everlane purchase with their Street shoe. A casual crossover between a slip-on sneaker and a loafer, this shoe has become my weekend go-to. It terms of its wear now, wear later ability, I can't help but think they will look super chic in the fall and winter paired with a boxy black sweater and distressed jeans. I hope everyone has a wonderful Thursday and thanks as always for reading!

Orange Zest

Vest: Zara (similar here and here) // Top: L'Agence // Skirt: Topshop (old, similar here) // Shoes: Chloe and here// Bag: Gucci // Sunnies: Karen Walker

Happy Monday! This tangy orange is one of my favorite colors of the summer season. I especially love the way it adds a little bit of punchiness to a simple black and white ensemble. Along with color, a long vest is great way to add unexpected dimension to an outfit. It's a light layer, so it's perfect for the current season. However, as we get closer to the fall season it will also look great layered over a chunky sweater and leather pants.  I hope you have a wonderful week and thank you as always for reading.

Play Ball

Jacket: J.Crew // Shirt: J.Crew // Jeans: Rag & Bone (similar here) // Shoes: Christian Louboutin // Sunnies: Tory Burch // Clutch: Clare V

When you love to shop, often the seasons go much faster in your mind. In mid-July the weather outside may be a balmy 99 degrees, but the items trickling into the stores are pre-fall collections comprised of cashmere and boots. This makes it hard to live in the moment! This outfit is my compromise between the way I can dress for the current season, and my fall fashion cravings. I found this athletic jacket that has a vintage ballpark flair majorly on sale at J.Crew.  I love how it looked with my summery navy cotton tunic and super distressed boyfriend jeans. While I won't be wearing the jacket normally for a while, it will be a nice layering piece for overly zealous air conditioning. I hope you have a great weekend and thank you as always for reading!

White Flares

Jeans: Frame (similar here and here) // Tank: J.Crew // Vest: J.Crew // Bag: Meli Melo // Sunnies: Tory Burch

Happy Wednesday! I have been a long time flared denim convert at this point. I already have a dark wash and medium wash pair, so naturally it was time to bring a white pair into my rotation for the summer months. Honestly if you haven’t abandoned your basic skinny jeans for flares yet, what are you waiting for? They make your legs look super long and transform the normal t-shirt and jeans situation into a statement. I made my white flares summer office appropriate (creative office mind you) with my sleeveless blazer. If you work in a more conservative environment, you could always wear a blazer with sleeves to make it perfect for casual Friday. I hope you have a great rest of the week, and thank you as always for reading.

Birthday Blush

Blazer: Reiss // Shorts: Forever21 (similar here and here) // Tank: Trouve // Shoes: Christian Louboutin // Bag: Fendi : Bracelets: David Yurman

Happy Monday Everyone! Today is my birthday and in the grand tradition of aging, I have begun to ponder my evolving style throughout the years. There was a time in my recent past where if it wasn’t Lilly Pulitzer or J.Crew, I wasn’t interested in wearing it. And not that there is anything wrong with either of those brands, I still wear them both... my point is that my style spectrum has gained range in the 6 years between 20 and 26. It has been a fun journey, getting to know myself as a pseudo-adult and learning about what it is that I really value in a wardrobe. The following are a couple of truths that I have learned and try to follow:

There are things worth splurging on—bags, shoes, and quality suiting are things you will love for years to come are the building blocks of a great wardrobe. Save up for things you really want.

There are things that are not worth splurging on. Case in point- these shorts will likely fall apart after five washes.
Mix your high-end and low-end items- style is easy when you are in head to toe luxury. Style is curated, effortless and often a lot more interesting if you pair designer with a great ASOS find.

Don’t save nice jewelry for special occasions. Wearing meaningful pieces, heirloom other otherwise give your ensemble some character. I wear the jewelry my parents have given me every day, it is a little reminder that I am loved.

Forget the rules. Yes—you can wear white after Labor Day. Dress for the weather and occasion, color is universal. Most importantly, dress for yourself.

That is everything I can think of right now. I hope you have a wonderful rest the week and holiday weekend... the fourth is just around the corner. Thank you as always for reading!
